Showdown #2: Chris and RJ take on the NHL
Several weeks ago, we debuted our Showdown segment, where two of us battle on a topic and a winner is selected by a third party. The first showdown featured a fantasy NBA draft between LeBron James and Kevin Durant, where the two drafted teams to face each other in a seven-game series ... and LeBron James won in 7 games.
We're doing it again, this time for the NHL. So, yeah, now it's not really novel -- it's exactly what the NHL does for its All Star Game already. So what's our hook? Well, no one on our staff really knows the NHL. So Chris and I are going to wing it, and we will bring in our NHL expert and resident Rangers fan, Connor, to evaluate just how absurdly stupid we were.
The rules are basically the same as before: the two teams will face in seven games, and the winning team will split $10 million US or Canadian dollars. Both owners will lay out their 4 offensive lines, 3 defensive pairings, and 2 goalies, and team chemistry counts.
Here's how our draft went. Apologies in advance to NHL fans around the world.
The Draft

That was already pretty fun. And to be honest, I think Chris and I both learned quite a bit. Now, time to arrange our lines and defensive pairings.
The Lineups

So now, it's up to Connor to evaluate these teams and choose the winner. Stay tuned, and enjoy the start of the NHL regular season next week!
