To keep our Box Score Monday streak going, here's an emergency, last-minute, super-short, Labor Day edition!
Today's game is from the first game of the 2002 Colorado Buffaloes' season against their intra-state rivals, the Colorado State Rams. The Buffs were coming off of a super-successful 2001 season in which they won the Big XII conference, and they were rewarded in 2002 with a #7 pre-season ranking. Meanwhile, Colorado State came into the matchup unranked.
The game was very close, and Colorado State pulled off the upset to prevail, 19-14. Naturally, the Rams would be rewarded for this win in the rankings, right?
